Pumpkin Tent Card Tutorial

It’s getting closer to Thanksgiving so I wanted to share with you a tent card tutorial for these babies!

You can use them use them for so many thing – print on them names for placecards, food labels for parties or thanksgiving, make an actual card or invitation out of them.  And you can do them in various colors!  This was inspired by a card on etsy that is no longer available.

Bella Soiree’s Tutorial for Pumpkin Tent Cards

Supplies needed:

8 ½  x 11 plum colored textured cardstock paper – I used Brazzil from Michaels on all the paper (makes 4 tent cards as shown)  – you could use any coordinating color

8 ½  x 11  ivory colored textured cardstock paper -makes 4 tent cards as shown)

8 ½  x 11 orange colored textured cardstock paper  (makes about 6 pumpkins)

8 ½  x 11 light orange colored textured cardstock paper (makes about 12 pumpkins)

scissors

paper cutter

2” circle paper punch

foam adhesive dots

glue stick or paper adhesive

ribbon for “stem”
marker in color to outline pumpkins and write names

Instructions:

Using a paper cutter, cut each page into 4 cards, using the lines as a guide. Note that you’ll be cutting the paper into 4 equal sections, once in half lengthwise at 5 1/2 inches and once in half width-wise at 4 1/4 inches.
Do this for the plum and ivory paper.  *Note – I trimmed the ivory paper an extra ¼ inch all the way around so I could mount it on the plum paper and be visible.
Mount and center the ivory paper on the plum paper using glue stick or paper adhesive.
Fold card in half evenly lengthwise to make the tent.

Next use a circle paper punch to cut out 3 circles in what ever color you want your pumpkin to be.
I used 2 dark orange circles and one lighter.

Then, take the two darker circles – overlapping them and adhering them together

Finally, take the lighter pumpkin color and adhere it to the center of the two.

I then used a permanent marker and highlighted the edges slightly.

At this point, you would also write the name on the center of the lighter pumpkin.
****Tip – you could also run your paper through a printer and have the names typed up.  You would just need to use a template for 2 inch circles.  They have some on avery labels website.  Test your printer out with the textured paper first.  It will be thick.  Do this prior to cutting out the circles and cut out around the names instead***

Next take a piece of ribbon approx. 2.5 inches long.  Fold in half lengthwise to make a “stem”.   Take this and place a piece of tape to the back and run along the bottom of the piece overlapping the edges.   Take it and place it on the top back side of the pumpkin.
Also, place several foam adhesive circles to the back.

Place this in the center of your card – push gently to make sure the adhesive sticks.

On the inside, place the table number as preferred.  You could adhere a scrap of ivory paper and write on it, create labels, or use another circle for inside with number.  Just some ideas!
